“Anything below $100 per MWh will be a success for a government that is paying over $100/MWh for thermal generation,” Marcelo Alvarez told Recharge.
Alvarez expects wind to come in between $70 to $80, while for solar PV he sees prices ranging from $80 to $100/MWh. By comparison, in the most recent Chilean and Mexican tenders wind came in around or below $50/MWh, while solar sank to around $30/MWh.
