The Cypriot Interior Ministry says the 82-megawatt wind farm, which will be the largest in the eastern Mediterranean, will be built the district of Paphos. Construction work is expected to be finished by the end of 2010.

The project will be financed primarily through a €65m ($92.3m) grant provided by the European Investment Bank. It will also involve the construction of a 132 kilovolt transfer substation.
