It will collaborate on the project with developer Hebei Construction & Investment New Energy, according to an online statement.
The project — which will be built in Bohai Bay, near the Caofeidian economic development zone in the city of Tangshan — was first identified for development by the maritime authorities last year.
Beijing-based CTG did not reveal additional details about the plan.
The state-owned group also said that one of its subsidiaries plans to launch a feasibility study for a 600MW offshore wind farm in southeastern Fujian province.
