The company is seeking buyers for the credits, but it wants prices higher than the current estimated R$0.6 ($0.25) per Carbon Emission Reduction Credit (CER), said Tarcísio Borin, the company's sustainability director.

In 2006, the CPFL group sold CERs from a small-scale hydro plant at a price of €12.6 ($15.9).

CPFL Renováveis would use the proceeds of the sale to finance the company's sustainability programmes.
