The renewables unit of utility CPFL will buy operator BVP from its current owners – the Brazilian energy investment fund FIP Brasil Energia and Servtec Investimentos e Participações – in a deal worth more than R$1bn ($584m).

BVP controls the 16.8MW Taíba Albatroz; the 58.8MW Canoa Quebrada; the 50.4MW Bons Ventos; and the 31.5MW Enacel wind farms in the state of Ceará.
