Broken Bow II, which uses 43 GE 1.7MW turbines, and was commissioned only weeks ago in central Nebraska.
The project sells its output to Nebraska Public Power District under a 25-year contract.
The decision to sell half of the project “supports our ongoing plan to redeploy proceeds into new renewable projects”, explains Kevin Sagara, vice president of renewables for Sempra US Gas & Power.
Sempra US Gas & Power, which this week said it will wait until early 2015 to decide whether to launch a renewables yieldco, will continue to oversee O&M at Broken Bow II.
