PUC commissioners voted to approve the accord without modification.
Xcel Energy is the state’s largest electric utility. Signatories to the settlement included the state Office of Consumer Counsel, Colorado Energy Office, environmental organizations, cooperative electric associations, municipalities, large energy consumers, trade and union groups, and independent power producers.
The project will use 300 Vestas 2MW turbines that the vendor will manufacture in plants located in Colorado.
