China Light & Power Company Syndicate (CLP Group) established a presence in India in 2002.
The Theni Wind Farm brings the company’s total wind power portfolio in India to 446MW.
CLP India has an agreement with turbine manufacturer Vestas to develop the project.
The Theni Wind Farm is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of June 2010. It is expected to qualify as a Clean Development Mechanism project under the Kyoto Protocol.
