All told, the world invested $107.4bn into clean energy companies and projects during the first six months of the year, an 18% slip, BNEF says. Second-quarter investments totaling $53bn were down 28% year on year.
The biggest headwinds are no different to those facing many other industries, including volatility in global stock markets, and especially in China.
