A panel of leading experts in the field set to join the event includes University of Tokyo professor Takeshi Ishihara, Principle Power CEO Joao Metelo and Recharge editor-in-chief Darius Snieckus.
The panel will share insights into pioneering projects such as the Fukushima Forward in Japanese waters.
ClassNK released its own Guidelines for Offshore Floating Wind Turbine Structures in 2012.
Hirofumi Takano, director of its Innovation Division, said: “ClassNK began offering classification and certification services for wind turbines in 2011 and since have played a key role in supporting the development of Japan’s nascent floating offshore wind industry in order to support a transition towards cleaner energy.”
