The total marks a doubling of funds from Citi’s previous 10-year environmental finance plan, which ended in 2013.
The group said it will “lend, invest and facilitate” the $100bn of finance as part of its wider sustainability commitments.
Citi has been involved in the financing of several blockbuster renewable energy projects, including the 579MW Solar Star PV project and Alta Wind, the US’s first gigawatt-scale wind complex.
