Approximately 165MW of offshore wind capacity was installed in the first half of 2015, according to Liming Qiao, China director of the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC).

The nation’s cumulative offshore wind capacity reached about 780MW at the end of June.

However, under a national offshore construction plan through 2016, just two undisclosed projects — 61MW of capacity in total — had been completed by the end of July, the NEA said this week.
