The $20m project Harbor Wind carried out by US developer Revolution Energy is the latest successful effort by Chinese turbine makers to both lessen dependence on domestic sales and gain a foothold in the world’s second largest wind market.
The 1.5MW UP1500 model units will generate an estimated 30 million/kWh a year of clean energy, enough to power 2,500 homes. They face the Gulf of Mexico.
