The country’s National Energy Administration (NEA) now expects the country to install roughly 2GW of offshore capacity by the end of next year and 10GW by 2020, down from an earlier target of 5GW by 2015 and 30GW by 2020.
“The major challenge for offshore now is cost,” Li Peng, an official from the NEA said this week at China Wind Power 2014 in Beijing.
