The nation’s cumulative installed wind capacity hit approximately 136.2GW at the end of May, from roughly 129GW at the end of December, the National Energy Administration (NEA) said this week.
The figures suggest that the country is broadly on track to install about 20GW of fresh wind capacity by the end of this year.
However, the curtailment of wind from the grid remains a serious problem, with roughly 15% of the nation’s installed capacity left idle in 2015.
