“By postponing the tender we can prepare bids after the approval of the new transmission law that is currently being debated in Congress,” Carlos Finat, president of the Chilean Renewable Energy Association (ACERA) told Recharge.
“The degree of certainty in the bids will be greater with knowledge of the new law.”
Chile's transmission grid is divided into three parts, and the government has been taking steps to improve connection between the regions, mainly to allow flow of power from the high altitude sunny Catamaran plateaus in the north to the cities in the centre and south of the country.
