``Our project was selected by Ontario Power in a competitive bidding process,’’ said Aaron Peters, SkyPower director of communications and regulatory affairs.

He said the C160mn (about $130mn) project is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2010 and will produce clean energy for more than 16,000 homes in Prince Edward County.

SkyPower is still analyzing the number of wind turbines for the project with an initial number set at 43.
