“The expansion of the power sector at a rate of 4GW to 5GW a year is projected and wind is expected to account for 30% of that,” Sergio Schwartz, WEG’s investor relations officer said in a fourth quarter earnings conference call.
WEG last year began deliveries of a locally manufactured 2.1MW turbine under license from US vendor Northern Power System that will extend through 2017.
