It anticipates that Brazil’s generation capacity will reach 195.5GW at the end of 2023, a 71GW increase from 1 January this year.
Wind installations will increase almost ten-fold from 2.3GW on 1 January this year to 22.4GW in 2023, according to the federal government’s Energy Panning Authority (EPE), which drew up the plan.
EPE forecasts that new wind capacity will average slightly more than 2GW annually, with a peak of around 4GW each in 2017 and 2018.
