Wind farm developers protested against new government regulations that extend wind measurement periods required for project applications, which also cut the distance they can be taken from planned sites. Although the government considered temporarily revoking the new rules, it has now decided to stick with them.
As a result developers will have to provide 24 months of wind measurements, which are only valid from 6km to 10km from the measuring point, to participate in this year’s tender process.
