The first reserve tender scheduled for 29 July will contract solar and small hydro with 20 and 30 year off-take agreements respectively starting in 1 July 2018 for solar and 2020 for small hydro.
The second tender is scheduled for October and will contract wind and solar projects with 20 year PPAs starting 1 July 2019.
“It's another positive signal for the [nascent] solar PV supply chain,” says Rodrigo Sauaia, chief executive of the Brazilian Solar Association (Absolar), who expects around 2GW of PV to be contracted this year.
