BP will own and operate the estimated $500m facility, which will be located east of the existing 300.5MW Cedar Creek I wind farm. It will supply power to more than 75,000 residents, according to the company.
Public Service Company of Colorado has signed a long-term power agreement with BP to buy power from the facility.
Contracts have been awarded to General Electric for 63 1.6MW
