On Tuesday, Bill Bennett, energy and mines minister for British Columbia, was on hand for the start of construction at Pattern Development’s 185MW Meikle wind project in the province’s northeastern Peace Region.
Bennett says that projects like the 61-turbine Meikle – set to reach commercial operation in late 2016 – represent the future of British Columbia’s electricity market, and insists that future wind and solar projects will not be snuffed out by the massive and controversial Site C.
