Hydro Tasmania said the TasWind project on King Island had been shown “not economically viable as a stand-alone wind farm project or as a staged connection to Tasmania” following a year-long feasibility study.
The generator had planned to send wind power from King Island – off the north of the island state of Tasmania – to the mainland state of Victoria via a subsea link.
