Abbott – who also agreed with a talk show host that wind turbines could have negative health impacts – told a Sydney radio station that he wished he had been able to limit the number of turbines even more via a cut to the RET, which was agreed by Australian politicians last month.
After a year of deadlock and political wrangling, a deal was reached to reset the mandatory target for large-scale renewables at 33TWh of annual production by 2020, down from an original goal of 41TWh.
