The companies say the agreement applies exclusively to three of the five offshore zones set by the French government in January – the 750MW Dieppe-Le Tréport site and Courseulles-sur-Mer and Fécamp, both 500MW.

In January the French government outlined the five zones that will make up the first 3GW of capacity to be tendered.

Four are located off France’s northern coast in the English Channel and one, Saint-Nazaire, off the Atlantic coast further south.
