Speaking at an industry summit in Warsaw, Anna Wypych-Namiotko, deputy minister of transport, construction and the maritime economy, revealed for the first time the high level of interest in Poland's Baltic Sea wind resource. The applicants were not named.

Most experts believe it will take years before the country sees its first operational project. But it does boast a strong base of ports and harbours, and will be able to piggyback off the experience and cost-reductions won in other European markets.
