Deep cultural and commercial links between Gamesa and Latin American countries – including established relationships with other Spanish giants in the region such as financier Santander and developer Iberdrola – can all be seen as positives for Siemens from any future link with its rival OEM.
Gamesa's leading position in the major 1GW plus, fast-growth wind markets of Brazil and Mexico, complemented by good footholds in Chile and tiny Uruguay, would all be pluses for the German company.
