A postponement or cancellation of the country's 350MW near-shore tender and a price cap on the 600MW Kriegers Flak auction are among several "cost-saving initiatives" proposed to lower expenditure on renewable energy, following a decision to shift financing onto the national budget and abolish Denmark's long-standing Public Service Obligation (PSO) support mechanism.

The proposals would mean amendments to the nation's principal RE framework, the 2012 Energy Agreement, and the country's wind industry still hopes the Danish Parliament will refuse to scrap the coastal tender when the issue is discussed there.
