If correct, unconfirmed reports that a Chinese corporation is in talks to buy a $683m stake in several wind farms being built by local renewables firm Casa dos Ventos would mark the latest in a series of foreign investments in the country's 2GW-a-year wind power sector.
Last year Canadian investment fund Brookfield acquired control of the wind assets of local power company Energisa, and earlier in 2015 Statkraft and EDF Energies Nouvelles also announced investments in the country, as local and foreign developers hold firm to their expansion plans.
