Under the plan, which requires regulatory approval, AEP Ohio would develop a minimum new 500MW of wind and 400MW solar capacity.
It would also continue energy efficiency programs; move forward with grid modernization efforts, including installation of smart meters distribution automation and Volt-VAR optimization; and provide up to $100m in customer credits.
The plan, which was devised in consultation with stakeholder groups and three competitive retail energy suppliers, includes significant environmental improvements to AEP-owned generating units.
