The vendor is now working on the foundation. Plans call for mounting a 3MW turbine with a 116-meter rotor diameter mounted on the tower and having it in full commercial operation by the end of the year, says Peter Gray, marketing and communications director for North America.
Acciona will also put another of its AW-3000/116 wind turbines on a 92-meter-high steel tower near the other unit.
