Acciona did not release financial terms of the transaction. It is now constructing the project, which it will own and operate. Full commercial operation is scheduled for the fourth quarter.
The facility will utilize 31 3MW AW125/3000 turbines from Acciona’s windpower division.
The power generated by San Roman will create a more reliable supply of electricity for more than 30,000 homes in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley, an area that has suffered rolling blackouts in recent years due to a lack of local electric resources.
