Acciona said its wind farms in February entered the system-adjustment services market managed by Spain’s network operator REE, following a change in the law governing participation.
Conventional power sources and hydro have previously dominated the provision of additional capacity to the balancing system, which is designed to keep supply and demand aligned on the network – while wind’s role is to curtail production.
