ABB’s cable system will connect the offshore wind farm platforms Kriegers Flak A and B via three high-voltage AC 220kV three-core submarine lines to Rřdvig, in Denmark, supplying electricity to some 600,000 homes.
The cable project is due for completion in 2018, with the wind farm itself fully operational by the end of 2021.
The submarine cables will have a total length of about 100km – 44km from each of the platforms to shore and 11km between the two platforms of the Baltic Sea project.
