The Swiss company expects to commission the equipment at some point in 2016.
It will provide 800kV converter transformers and components such as circuit breakers and wall bushings for the Lingzhou-Shaoxing UHVDC line, which upon completion will be China’s seventh 800kV transmission line.
The line will be used to move up to 8GW of electricity generated by wind and solar projects in the country’s remote interior to load centres on the eastern seaboard.
