The international contest, which aims to show wind-energy technology in an imaginative new way, received a record 2,300 entries from more than 40 countries.

The competition was held in conjunction with the Global Wind Energy Council and the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA).

The overall global winner, Markus Haslinger, with his shots of turbines above the clouds, will receive a €1,000 ($1,330) prize of Amazon vouchers, while the five runners-up — one each from Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and Australasia — will be awarded €250 vouchers.
