“The Clean Power Plan is the single most important step America has ever taken in the fight against global climate change,” Obama told cheering supporters of the initiative at the White House.
“I’m convinced that no challenge poses a greater threat to our future and future generations than a changing climate,” he added.
The 1,560-page rule is effective 60 days after publication in the Federal Register, the official record of the US government.
