The buyer, HRL Morrison, will own the wind farm jointly with Malaysian power-producer Malakoff with AGL continuing to operate Macarthur on their behalf.
AGL will retain the rights to power output and renewable energy certificates through to 2038.
Macarthur, in the Australian state of Victoria, became the largest wind farm in the southern hemisphere when it was completed in 2013. It uses 140 3MW Vestas V112 wind turbines.
