Ed Davey was UK energy and climate change secretary until May 2015, when national elections ended the Coalition government between his Liberal Democrats party and the larger Conservatives.
With the Conservatives the sole party of government following the election, Davey has emerged as a vocal critic of the policies pursued by his successor Amber Rudd, who has set in train cuts to renewables support that will particularly hit onshore wind and solar.
