Siemens is supplying 100 units of its 4MW turbines for the project in Putian, Fujian province.
The first four machines were connected to the grid on 21 December, according to a statement by Longyuan’s parent, Guodian.
Upon completion, the 400MW Putian site will be the biggest offshore wind farm in the country, the state-owned power group claimed.
In recent years, Fujian province has emerged as a key focus for future offshore development.
