"Automation is a new area we are looking into very intensively. We never had as many industrial partners, which shows that the projects is relevant for industry," Fraunhofer IWES managing director Andreas Reuter said during the opening ceremony.
For manufacturers, the ability to produce parts more quickly and with a constantly higher level of precision can result in significant cost advantages, Fraunhofer IWES says.
