Avangrid Renewables has secured a queue position of 2.4GW capacity in three 800MW interconnection (IC) requests with the 13-state electric power transmission system operator PJM for its future Kitty Hawk wind project offshore North Carolina, Recharge learns.
The move suggests the developer envisions Kitty Hawk as potentially among the largest offshore facilities along the US east coast.
