Dutch installer Van Oord plans to use a novel acoustic noise reduction system during the ramming of turbine foundations into the seabed at the 731MW Borssele 3&4 offshore wind project in the Netherlands.

Van Oord and Texan acoustic specialist AdBm Technologies with the support of Dutch research institute TNO have tested the new AdBm Noise Mitigation System (NMS), which they claim reduces underwater noise resulting from offshore pile driving wind turbine foundations.
