Northland Power is satisfied with Taiwan’s recent compromise on its offshore wind feed-in-tariff (FIT), and expects to sign power-purchase agreements (PPAs) this year for its 1,044MW Hai Long projects under development with partner Yushan Energy.

Taiwan’s burgeoning offshore wind market was severely rattled late last year, after permitting delays meant projects could not qualify for 2018’s FIT level – leading Denmark’s Orsted, for one, to reevaluate its approach to the country.
