India’s wind power manufacturing base is under “huge pressure” with national capacity additions for the current financial year set for just 2GW, said Suzlon chairman Tulsi Tanti.

The low level of additions is taking a toll on manufacturers’ margins against a background of tariff caps, and problems accessing land and finance for projects, said Tanti, speaking in his capacity as chairman of the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA).
