New York Governor Andrew Cuomo embraced a dramatic increase and extension of the state’s offshore wind target, from the current 2.4GW by 2030 to 9GW by 2035, as ambitions for the offshore wind market continue to surge along the US East Coast.
In addition, Cuomo announced New York will seek to invest $200m in its port infrastructure, and establish an offshore wind training centre, to give it an edge in attracting jobs and supply-chain investment.
