MHI Vestas picks Boston for its US headquarters

While many components will be imported initially, Danish turbine manufacturer is working with customer Vineyard Wind to establish a local supply chain

MHI Vestas, the offshore wind turbine supplier, has settled on Boston for its US headquarters, another win for the state of Massachusetts as it vies for leadership in the fast-emerging US offshore wind industry.

The announcement comes six weeks after developer Vineyard Wind selected MHI Vestas to supply V164-9.5MW turbines for its 800MW contracted project south of Massachusetts, a landmark win in the incipient US offshore market.
