German wind group Nordex plans to start assembling machines in Argentina from next year, becoming the second global OEM to set up shop in a nation whose renewables ambitions will require the installation of 300 to 400 wind turbines annually.

Nordex said it signed an agreement with the Argentine government-owned aerospace manufacturer Fábrica Argentina de Aviones "Brig. San Martin" to use its current facilities in the northwestern province of Córdoba to produce 150 turbines a year, confirming an earlier Recharge report.
