Brazil’s power regulator approved a wind cap price of R$227 per MWh ($60.71/MWh) for the country’s 31 August A-6 power tender.

The cap is below the R$276/MWh level set at the last A-6 tender held in December 2017, in which the average prices price for wind fell to R$98.62/MWh. Aneel also approved the rules for the tender, which include a R$171.82/MWh
